Children are jewels and gifts... well that's what my dad thought when he named his business after my sister and I, S and J Jewels and Gifts
That's right I am reviewing my dad's business BUT don't fear I can be brutally honest even about my families business, so here goes! S and J Jewels and Gifts was formed in 2004, the business started out small, first selling trading cards and handmade jewellery after awhile the business transformed into giftware and handmade jewellery, today the business has moved away from handmade jewellery and now solely sells the highest quality of giftware and homewares. If you compare prices to chain stores and other giftware/homeware stores the prices my dad charges in my opinion is actually very good, price ranges are from $5.00-$200.00 so there is a budget for everyone. There is even a lay-by option for those who don't have the whole amount at once. Postage is where the issue lies, because of the various sizes and weights it's hard to give the postage costs and since America have decided to put a surcharge on the Australian post office it makes shipping to America even more painful BUT while postage can be an issue my dad does everything he can to accommodate and reduce costs as much as possible. When it comes to customer interaction no one can beat my dad, he has a smile to offer, a joke to give and is always open to a couple dollars of haggling, he is easy to approach and understands the difficulties that come with affording gifts. My rating is an overall 10/10 but please head on over to his Facebook page and see for yourself. I can hear you all say but.... but this is a business review blog why are you posting YOUR photography on here, well refer to the title, a whole blog of just writing? pretty boring and uninspiring right? so here is something pretty to bring a smile to your face :D
I'm pretty sure if you sell music, have sold out concerts and even sell merchandise you're a business of sorts.... oh well I'm doing a review of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus they are my top favorite band of all time.
They are a Christian band all the way from Florida in America. As a Christmas present from the old man (refer to my Dreamy date post to understand the old man reference) I got VIP tickets to meet the guys from Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, it was one of the BEST experiences of my life, they were sweet, funny and actually listened to what I had to say... how many famous people can you say that about? Not only that but they fed us (well those who eat pizza) and gave us free drinks (of the soft drink kind) I mean now that is a meet and greet, dinner, drinks and awesome conversation! Then we got to hear them do their warm up, perfection right there! Now their music, their lyrics are written to touch you, to make you feel something, not only that but their songs have meanings, right now I can think of a dozen songs that have the most profound meanings... what is also awesome about these guys is they don't feel the need to swear, degrade women, mention drugs in it's cool to use them sort of way, blaspheme or promote sex... which come on let's face it 99% of artists today do, which gives the wrong ideas to kids. Anyway don't take my word for it (although that's kind of the point of this blog) head on over to Youtube and check out their song Face Down. This review is for Ga Bin a Korean restaurant, which is located at 144 Grote St, Adelaide.
When we go on dates we like to try something new and I had NEVER had Korean food before, so the old man (as I like to call him) suggested we try this restaurant, cut to us sitting in the Ga Bin looking at the menu, which has so many nice options, I opted for the vegetarian stir fry while the old man went for the beef stir fry and we both had a soft drink, while we waited we made small talk and then the old man had to nip of to the bathroom, when he got back he told me that the lights were out and that he couldn't see anything... I got a giggle out of something he said which cannot be repeated on a review blog as prestigious and upper class as this ;) So the food came and ohhhhh why had I never had Korean food before? the texture of the food, the flavors, it was like a food party in my mouth... yes I went there and said a food party, trust me when you go there you'll understand. While we were eating the aroma's from the kitchen scented the room and made you feel like you weren't eating out but instead at a cozy family reunion with decor that was warm and inviting. The staff felt more like old friends then people who were there to take your order and serve you, they are that friendly. The old man and I have had several dates since then, some good, some great, some bad and some really awful ones but our date at Ga Bin is one that will never be forgotten, it was romantic, special... pretty much everything a person want's in a date, so let me give my marks. Location: 9/10 Parking: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Staff: 9/10 Amenities: 7/10 Pricing: 9/10 I know, I know it's been awhile since I have done a review, but with life being so hectic I haven't had the chance to go anywhere new or use any new services which I can bestow on you.... until NOW!
Tonight my family and I enjoyed a tea that was superb. Through a website called Eat Now we found a a yummy home delivery service by the name of Lakeside Cafe. They serve anything from pizza all the way to banana cream pie so there is definitely something for everyone to choose from. Tonight our order consisted of two Texan burgers (the gentlemen give it a rating of 9), one American burger (my sister gives it an 8) and two steak salads (my mum gives it an 8 and I agree that an 8 is fitting). Oh I almost forgot to mention the two boxes of curly fries..... let's just say that we were playing steal the plate of curly fries from each other, that and we all agree that they deserve a 10! Now let's talk about delivery, they offer a service where you can choose what time you would like it delivered and they were on time (hard to say that about some other places...) and the delivery guy is polite which is a bonus. Price wise for 5 people it set us back (yes I'm going to be vague) somewhere between $70-$80 dollars including delivery, so while other takeaway options may be cheaper the quality is poorer, so I'm quite happy with the pricing. So let's get down to the ratings: Ease of ordering: 10/10 (if you can remember your password) Actual delivery: 10/10 Food: 9/10 (it actually arrives hot) Pricing: 7/10 (a $25.00 minimum hurts the rating just a little) All in all, if you can't be bothered to cook the Lakeside Cafe or even the Eat Now site are both great to visit. Had you fooled with the title didn't I?
Today's review is of Noack's Lawn & Garden Care My dad hurt his back some years ago when he was a nurse in a nursing home so he has problems doing day to day stuff like taking care of the garden. We've had gardeners out before but they have always done a sub par job and charged us outrageous amounts so when we found Noack's Lawn & Garden Care we decided to give them a go, do we regret it? NO, in no way do we regret giving them a go! They came and gave us a FREE quote and understood it would take some time to get the money, eventually we had them out to do the job, I would say it took them 2-3 hours to do what we needed done, once they had finished the garden looked completely different, I could not recognize it at all! They came and helped make the garden easier for not only my dad but my whole family to care off, we even hired them to clean up my fiance's garden, they are just tremendous people and so easy to get along with. Ratings: Pricing: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 If you are after someone to do your lawn then I highly recommend Noack's Lawn & Garden Care! Today I will be reviewing a wonderful lady and business Lollys Personalised Labels.
My family and I ordered business cards and stickers for gift bags from Deb, not only are the products of top quality but the professionalism and quick turn about is amazing. Usually we would go to other sources but since finding Deb we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else, with Deb we get a human face to the process of ordering and help to make decisions of what would look better for the product. Compared to other sources as well the pricing is just amazing, for X2 sheets of business cards it cost us $3.80 which is just WOW especially for a small business who needs to make the budget stretch. I have had the pleasure of testing a product called 'Balancing Facial Serum' sent to me by the lovely Glenys of Seacret Directs. Firstly a little bit about the product as sent to me by Glenys. Seacret Balancing Facial Serum reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Containing a concentrated combination of vitamins, dead seas minerals, herbal extracts, amino acids and carbohydrates, known as skin nutrients and stabilizers. This formula adds just the right amounts of nutrients and moisture to refresh your appearance for a more youthful look. Now onto my review, I will list the pros and cons of the product: Pros: The cream has a nice smell (there is nothing worse then using a cream and smelling like dead fish all day) Easy to apply One small tester pack is enough to cover the whole face and neck There is no greasy/disgusting left over oil on the hands. A 5c piece is enough to cover everywhere It is paraben free. Cons: Pricing, for a 30ml bottle it will cost $120.00 unless you are a preferred customer which you can then purchase the serum for $66.99, although considering the cost of brand names in stores it is reasonable (if you aren't a student like me) So all in all the pros most definitely outweigh the cons. I definitely recommend this product, it even helped control the breakout I had on my face. This product gets a 10/10 Saturday night my darling fiance ordered take out to try and be spontaneously romantic.... I'm going to hold onto the saying 'It's the thought that counts' because romance was not what happened.
We have ordered from Quan Ngon before and enjoyed their Chinese food immensely... unfortunately this was not the case on Saturday. Our food arrived hot and on time (I'm assuming on time as I had no clue he had ordered) we ordered what we usually have, fried rice, black bean steak and something that was meant to have cashews in it but didn't and we also ordered noodles. The start of the evening going bad started with no cashews I mean you can't deprive a girl of cashews *insert pouty face* next was that they put seafood in the noodles, they don't even mention the fact there is seafood in the noodles on their site.. I mean HELLO that's an important thing to do as seafood and I don't mix... it always upsets my stomach and makes me throw up... so I was dissapointed. Now we get to the best part, both my fiance and I got a mild case (which turned into a bad case) of food poisoning, cut to us both vying for the toilet and me taking anti nausea medication. It was not a good end to what was meant to be a romantic night. Onto ratings Ease of order: 10/10 Delivery personnel: 10/10 Pricing: 10/10 Food: Well from past experiences 8/10 from my current experience 4/10 |
